Virginia Beach National Chess Day Festival

This fun outdoor event in the urban heart of Town Center is designed to celebrate National Chess Day. Free Chess lessons, a giant chess set, casual chess, four-way chess, plunder chess, solitaire chess.
Features include a multi-section tournament (with sections for both experienced and beginning players), free chess lessons, and a simultaneous exhibition by Virginia State champions.

8:00am-9:00am, On-site registration for the chess tournament
9:00am-6:00pm, Free Chess Lessons, Giant Chess Set, Bughouse, Casual Chess, Four-Way Chess, Plunder Chess, Solitaire Chess
9:00am-9:30am, New player orientation
9:30am-3:45pm, Chess Tournament – 4 games for everyone entered
4:00pm-4:30pm, Awards Ceremony
5:00pm-7:00pm, Simultaneous Exhibition
