At the 12th Judit Polgar Global Chess Festival, for the first time, we are organizing a RubikChess Tournament open to the general public, in cooperation with the FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess and with the support of Rubik’s.

The tournament is recommended for enthusiastic amateur cubers and chess players with a maximum 1800 Elo rating. If you would like to test yourself in a completely new game format, this is your chance! In this unique team competition, chess and the Rubik’s Cube take center stage together – and success requires speed, good decision-making, and true teamwork.

Participants compete in teams of two in a five-round tournament. Before each round, you decide who will sit at the chessboard and who will solve the Rubik’s Cube – so the tactics begin even before the first chess move and the first twist of the cube.

All you need to bring is your skills, your teammate, and your enthusiasm: the organizers will provide the 3×3 Rubik’s Cubes and chess sets.

Places are limited, so registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Every participant will receive a certificate, while the top six teams will receive prize packages.
